dirty mothballs

we took the metro to and from the concert last night. while i think it's a good way to get to the staples center, getting home is a completely different story. once the concert was over, i think by the time we got outside it was 11:37 (didn't get home until 1am). we walked the block to get to the metro station, and stood outside in the windy cold for about 20 minutes until the train came. while waiting for the train, these drunk bon jovi groupies found it hilarious to ask every passing car the same joke,

"what do you get when you mix a brown chicken with a brown cow?
brown-chicken-brown-cowwww!! (in the tune of the porny bow chicca bow wow)"

i know. it's not even funny. and i probably heard them say it about 20 times. we had to transfer trains at the metro center station. and after waiting there for about 15 minutes, the north hollywood train finally comes. we all board (200 bon jovi drunk older women), and then the train conductor comes on the radio and says that the train is now out of service, and we'll need to switch to the train on the other side of the track. so we finally (!) get on the right train and it takes off. ps this train reeked of weed and BO. then some homeless guy brings out his guitar and starts singing 'brown eyed girl' and everyone on the train starts singing along. by now i was really tired therefore extremely annoyed. the homeless guitar man then comes right over to where we're standing and he starts playing some more hippie music. then some guy says to homeless man, "i'll pay you 10 bucks to play wild horses." and i don't know if it was the weed drifting in the air, or that i was so tired, but being cornered in the train with scott while wild horses played became this oddly romantic moment. so thanks, homeless guitar man.

imagine this song being sung with a lisp, with a lingering smell of dirty mothballs.
